If we want to really help these women to earn more and create more impact and have sustainable, build a legacy income and build an empire and all the things, they need to upgrade their identity and they need to see themselves as a woman that can earn and hold and maintain serious wealth.
Because if you don't upgrade that identity, you will actually self-sabotage and you'll do everything in your power to shrink down to the identity that is your comfort zone.
We are moms, we are bosses, and we're living abroad.
In this brand new season of this exciting podcast, we are boosting the woman-to-woman connection through deep, intimate conversations to pause, reflect, and go beyond the skein deep.
And we are here to celebrate your unique journey.
No matter how old your business or your babies or where you are in the world, you are not alone.
It's time to go deeper, understand better, and lean into more harmony and fun along the way.
We are Desiree and Iva, and this is Mom Bosses Abroad.
Hi, and welcome to a new episode of the Mom Bosses Abroad podcast.
I am Iva Perez, and as always, I'm here with my amazing co-host Desiree Gonzalez.
And let's talk today about the one topic that makes women squirm in their seat more than, let's say, sex, politics, or even asking our husbands to do bedtime, which is the topic of money.
And yes, it is the thing we want more of, but secretly, we somehow feel bad about wanting it.
But that ends, I think, today because today we are ditching the guilt, we are burning the Scarcity Playbook, and we are talking about how to actually make more, keep more, and think way, way, way bigger with your money.
We're talking about really expanding into wealth in a way that feels aligned, doable, and unapologetic.
So who better to dive into this with us than someone who has walked the talk, not only building a multi-six-figure business, but also redefining what it means to create wealth as a mom on her own terms.
Welcome again to our podcast, Jess Salums.
Thank you so much for having me.
It's so good to welcome you back.
And for the ones that did not catch our first episode with Jess, we speak on so many other amazing topics on there, so you need to re-listen to that.
So Jess is, like Iva said, a multi-six-figure entrepreneur, but she's also a mom of three.
And she's spent over a decade already in this, the world of network marketing and online business.
But within just 12 months of stepping into high ticket, she replaced that full-time income and stepped into true time and financial freedom.
Like today, she's one of the top leaders in Australia and also the host of the newly re-launched Rich Bish Era podcast, where she helps women rewrite their money stories, earn their worth and build businesses that align with wealth, freedom and fulfillment.
And just before we hit record, we were just saying how much of, how much we're enjoying that new podcast.
So congrats on that awesome re-launch.
Thank you.
And we love the take or taking on the whole topic of money because exactly it's not talked about enough, especially in our world, in the mom world, right?
People are so scared to talk about that, but we are definitely worthy of earning more, handling more money, thinking bigger.
And that's why we need the real talk here with you today.
So thank you for coming back on Jess.
Thank you for having me and thank you for making the bold move of talking on this topic, because it is that thing that everyone wants more of, but we don't actually talk enough about.
Jess, why do you think that so many women actually feel the resistance of naming their true income goals?
That's such a great question.
So, so much of money and us naming what we want and our desires and really talking about why we want money, comes to conditioning and shame and the conditioning around, whatever you were taught around money when you were growing up.
Be that money is evil or it's greedy to want more or maybe you saw your parents fight due to money.
That money caused these frictions within your household.
Whatever it was that you saw and however you've been conditioned to think about money, doesn't need to be the truth, but it's what your memories and your body holds around money.
So it's typically this awkward topic where money impacts every single person on the planet and money can improve so many different situations.
Money in the hands of good people truly changes the world and money in the hands of women.
I saw this stat the other day around how when women have money, it's more likely to be circulated around the community and good is done with that money, right?
Because we're not saying that men are not generous and thoughtful in that way as well.
But I guess as mothers and as women, it's inherently in our nature to be nurturing, and to support and help others, and to give, and just in our nature.
And so it's a topic that does need to have more airtime.
It's also a topic that, as I said, it impacts every single person.
But when it comes to us naming it, we feel shame around wanting more.
We feel shame around actually putting words around like what we want, because it might earn that, or maybe you never saw women in your family, in your lineage, earning that amount.
Or maybe you are scared of judgment that you feel like people will say that's unreasonable or that's a ridiculous goal for you to have.
Whatever it is, most likely, it's going to come down to shame of some sort around actually, truly voicing what you desire.
That rings so true.
I feel that in my upbringing, there was this shame around how this state tastes full, it was to openly talk about me and numbers, and to see what you were making or earning.
It was deemed like people that are of certain class, like you just don't do that.
And not because my family had any money, but it was more this stigma around that.
And I feel that this really colors the way that also you start to share your journey, to share when you step into the online world, and you really have this showcase platform, so to speak, in your socials, to share about what you're doing, and putting in what you're earning or what could be possible to earn or what you're on your way to claim.
It's a big barrier, I feel, for a lot of women, right?
It might feel like, oh, you're calling in jealousy and envy from around you, so don't do it.
It's the evil eye, so to speak.
What would you say in that sense?
Was this something that you also felt you had to overcome at the beginning when sharing online friends and strangers?
Or do you feel that for you, it was just like a natural progression of owning and claiming more of what was already your worth?
Yeah, this is a big topic.
So I have done so much work on my money mindset over the years.
I have always plugged into books around money, meditations around money, affirmations around money, money courses.
Like I've done so much work on my money mindset and feeling worthy and deserving and capable of making more.
And that is a really big thing is like our self-worth is always, and this is a big thing I talk about on my topic is like, on my podcast is, you know, increasing your self-worth and your net worth because they are inherently linked.
If you don't, you will never out earn what you feel you're worthy of earning.
You will always self-sabotage or you will cap yourself if you don't work on your self-worth and so that's definitely a big part of it is like your self-worth, your confidence, what you're willing to receive in every area of life.
If you cannot receive compliments, support, gifts, you know, someone saying something nice to you, like if you can't receive those things, you're not going to be able to receive and hold money.
And so there's so many lessons I've learned along the way.
Like, you know, the first one was obviously learning to receive and learning to receive more, and that translated in what I received in money.
But the second lesson was learning to be able to hold money.
So not immediately giving it a home, not immediately having it go out to something or spending it or investing it, or, you know, like not having it sort of like, you know, come in and then go out immediately.
So holding money is another really big skill to learn.
Like, there's all these little rites of passage that come along as you build your wealth.
And, you know, the way to really dissolve timelines in how to deal with them, honestly, is learning from people who have a lot of wealth.
Like, I started reading books on wealth when I was 19, and my parents don't have money.
Like, it wasn't from, you know, the influence of having rich parents that know how to deal with money.
It was because I wanted more money and I wanted to know how to deal with large amounts of money.
So, my first ever real money book was The Richest Man in Babylon, and I used to walk to work.
I had a gap year between first and second year of university, and I worked in a bank, which was so perfect for me because I actually loved learning about money and banking.
And I was doing loans and all of this stuff, like cool stuff there, which probably bores most people.
But for me, I actually, I had really wealthy clients.
I worked in a bank that was in like the eastern suburbs of Sydney.
Like there was a lot of old money in that area and they were my clients.
So it was the perfect time for me to be learning about money.
And I read The Richest Man in Babylon and I used to walk to work reading it and walk home reading it.
And what I learned in that book, I still, you know, especially in that time of your life, when you're an early adult, you really retain information.
I feel like a lot easier.
You're a lot more, you know, like you're still kind of growing and learning and becoming an adult.
So I learned a lot of lessons that I have then just still play out in my life today.
And I've continued to read and learn from people who have really stable amounts of wealth, not just like quick wins, not just they got rich and then they lost it all, but actually like really, you know, incredible people in the money and the wealth space, which I could list off many more.
But basically, like, if you think about, yeah, like Richest Man in Babylon, Amanda Francis, Jen Sincero, there are so many incredible books.
Yeah.
A Happy Pocket Full of Money as well.
I love that book.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I know.
I took so much inspiration from your book list, actually, because when you shared that, I'm like, okay.
And the funny thing is my husband is a big reader and he always comes home.
We have so many books at home, but all about money and this and wealth.
And now I start taking his book and he's like, what's wrong with you?
Because he knows that's not my thing, right?
I'm not the money person.
I'm not into the whole number thing, finance, all that.
It's not my world.
But now it really, something shifts in you because if you need to prepare yourself to handle, like you said, to handle more money, you naturally become interested because, okay, you feel that leveling up, don't you?
Where you have to be super aware because otherwise, what's the point of earning so much money when you can't keep it, right?
Or when you can't or when you don't actually, it lands with you.
Great.
Fantastic.
But then what do you do?
All right, Mom Bosses, we get this question all the time.
What are your go-to products that actually help your family stay well and thrive?
Yep.
And the truth is we don't do complicated.
We do powerful basics that work with our bodies and our lifestyles.
It really comes down to four essentials that have become non-negotiable for us.
So first up, our Kang'en K8 Water Ionizer.
It's not just water, it's hydration and emission.
Alkaline, antioxidant-rich and energizing.
It helps us detox, focus and feel like superwomen, you know, without the caffeine crash.
And next is the Anespa Shower System.
Just think of it as a spa in your bathroom.
It really filters out the harsh stuff like chlorine and infuses your water with hot spring minerals.
Our skin says, thank you, and so do our kids.
Then there's the M-Guard, our EMF Harmonizer.
You know, with all this tech around us, this little device helps bring back calm to our space.
It's subtle, but powerful.
Like that mom intuition you just can't explain.
And finally, Ucon.
It's Okinawan Turmeric, grown in volcanic soil, packed with natural curcumin.
It's our immune system's bestie and our God's happy place.
Plus, it comes in tea, so hello, ritual moment.
You can explore all of them at oilyessentialsfamily.com/water.
And if something in your soul whispers, this could be a business too, then head on over to mombossesabroad.com and let's chat.
Because radiant health, time freedom and real wealth, they are not extras.
They are your birthright.
So what is also some of the biggest mistakes that you actually see women making when that moment comes and they haven't quite prepared themselves for a larger sum of money to land in to their bank account?
These questions will be game changing for your listeners.
I hope everyone's taking notes, not because of my answers, but because of these topics that you're bringing to this podcast, because these are the areas you have to really not ignore if you are serious about really changing your finances.
And I love this question because one of the biggest, I wouldn't say mistakes, but maybe people just don't realise they need to work on this until they're there, is their identity.
Have you ever seen or heard of the people that win the lotto and a year or two down the track, they're actually in a worse place than before they won the lotto, because they didn't work on their identity changing.
They did not do any work on that, right?
So if they were broke, poor, living paycheck to paycheck, they've always been that person.
That is their identity that they know and are comfortable with.
So they will naturally self sabotage and lose the money if they don't feel safe to hold it.
And so this is the mistake many people make, men and women make, is not actually upgrading their identity.
And I remember the very first retreat that we did for the Wildly Impaired Collective, which was I think 2023, we were taking all of our leaders to this amazing retreat space in Byron Bay.
And myself and the co-founders, we spoke about the topic and I said, hands down, it has to be an identity shift.
If we want to really help these women to like earn more and create more impact and have sustainable, build a legacy income and build an empire and all the things, they need to upgrade their identity and they need to see themselves as a woman that can earn and hold and maintain serious wealth because if you don't upgrade that identity, you will actually self-sabotage and you'll do everything in your power to shrink down to the identity that is your comfort zone, which is the familiar hell, right?
Yeah.
So that is one of the biggest things.
And again, the identity piece also marries up with self-worth and really working on your self-worth and what you feel worthy of receiving.
Yeah.
Oh, this is so powerful.
Yeah.
It plays out in so many areas of life.
It's like, do you use your voice?
Do you actually ask for what you want?
Do you actually speak to your partner or your husband about your needs or do you just shove them to the side?
Same as in a workplace, do you actually voice what you need, what you require, right?
Or do you just, again, put your needs to the side?
Like all of, like it's all connected, it's all related.
How you do one thing is how you do everything.
And this is why we don't just call ourselves the Wired and Empowered Collective for nothing.
Like we empower women and we teach on these topics because it is inherently related to money.
And also it impacts all areas of your life when you really start to do this deep work on self-worth and identity.
Well, expanding on this Jess, because I feel that this is such a juicy part where we can really make a deeper dive.
And in the identity piece, which is so important as you say, people that are vegan, they don't have a problem if they're on a plane for 14 hours and there's no vegan food for them.
They'll figure it out later.
It's not the person that is, so to speak, on a diet.
And then they are having this conflict inside saying, should I, should I not, but I'm starving, but the flight is too long.
They still haven't assumed that identity of, I don't eat this, so I'm gonna wait until it's available to me.
And one of the things that I have found also in my practice, speaking of identity, is that, is definitely that the identity that we have while doing something really sets the stage for whether we're going to be able to accomplish the goal that we want to do within that activity.
And unfortunately, I feel for us as women and as mothers, the mother identity really can throw a wrench on the money making aspect because as moms, we calibrate to a different frequency.
We're nurturers, we're givers.
Take it, take my shirt off.
You're cold.
I'm freezing.
But, you know, I want you to stay warm.
This is why Mama Bear's oatmeal is always cold in the story, right?
Because everybody gets taken care of.
And then you get to you at some point, eventually, maybe when the kids are out of the house, that's when you turn around, that's a mom.
Like that mom archetype really can come in and disrupt the boss archetype to some degree.
Professional, the one that's aiming for expanding my growth, my wealth, my income, my everything.
Like she's the go-getter, the let's take charge, let's do this.
And I want to claim what I'm worth.
And so what I want to offer, and I also would like to know your take on this, is sometimes what I offer is until you're able to calibrate to both and know where you stand, because depending on where you are and the context, whether it's you dancing in the kitchen, barefoot making cookies, you're going to be tapped into that identity.
But when you're on a discovery call, when you are having the conversations that need to be had, in this world that we're in, in the beautiful and magic world, you take on the identity of, look, this is what it's all about.
We can talk money, we can talk six figures, legacy, income, you can really step into that energetic.
I feel that there is a transition period where we need to go back and forth until we're able to naturally step into either or as we go.
Do you feel it's like that for what you have seen as you have mentored and coached so many other women?
Or do you feel there comes a point where you naturally are an identity that can hold all the other identities?
I don't know if I'm going a little bit down the rabbit.
No, this is great.
I'm picking up what you're putting down and I think this is such a great topic.
So, everyone is different firstly.
Everyone is very different with the way that they hold things and the capacity in which they have to hold it, right?
I have realized over the years, I actually have an extremely large capacity.
Like I can hold a lot and I don't get overwhelmed very easily.
Like what would overwhelm someone else?
I'm like, well, I've got three kids, three young kids.
So personally, I feel like being a mom is a superpower because it stretches your capacity to the point where you actually don't get as bothered about things as what someone else would who doesn't have kids.
Like you just don't sweat.
You don't like honestly, I don't think we have the energy to just sweat the small things.
Like it just doesn't bother me, you know, like little things don't really bother me.
And I'm a projector in my human design.
So I naturally see the big picture and I can see the big picture of things and know what is worth my time and what isn't.
So when it comes to, yeah, that like the shift of putting different hats on of like being a mom, being a boss babe, like, you know, those kind of different identities.
The way that I see it, and I guess this is just like, honestly, the way that I am and the way that I run my business and the way that I just do life is it's all in the same.
It's one in the same.
Like you are building and nurturing and putting your energy into something that you're so passionate about and that vision.
For me with my family, it was always my vision to have three kids.
Was it easy?
Absolutely not.
We had fertility issue after fertility issue after miscarriage and everything in between.
But my vision kept me going.
Now I have three beautiful healthy kids that I wake up every morning and I'm grateful for.
The same in my business.
I knew the big picture and the vision.
It's so much more beyond just me.
It wasn't just the results that I wanted to have, it's what I want for other women as well.
And that's what keeps you going.
And it's like, if you know the vision, how you do one thing is how you do everything.
How you mother, how you are as a mother, as a partner is likely how you're going to be as a mentor, as a coach, as a leader within this space as well.
So, as my business has grown, I've needed to systemize things more.
I've needed to, I don't really like the word boundaries because I think it's not used in the correct way often, but I like to use the word limits.
Like I know my limits and I know what I, because it's my own responsibility, it's not something I project on others.
I know what my limit is of like how many calls a day I can do, what times I'm available, how many different conversations I can have, how many people I can support.
All of those things are like a limit that I know and it's my responsibility to place upon myself.
And also, coming back to motherhood, what I've seen in my own leadership and in the leadership of others is, motherhood is such a superpower.
You are forced to think about others and there is a part of you that comes out that, honestly, like having kids really brings out the nurturing side of you.
And women in business, naturally, whether they have kids or not, like we're natural nurturers, right?
But when you have children, you're exercising that muscle every second of the day.
Like, it's just, it's so ingrained in you.
So, and it's funny because one of my mentors also has three young kids and she also runs a platform and she has an enormous team of 10,000 people.
And her and I were talking about this the other day.
Like, we just had a phone call about something completely separately.
And then both of our kids were like chaos in the background.
It was like 7 a.m.
I don't know why we were talking at 7 a.m.
It's the worst time of the day for us to talk.
And I was just saying, I was like, you know what, this is why we get shit done and it's why we have such epic businesses, because nothing holds us back.
But we also, it's all included in the same vision.
Like, our kids are our life, our business is our mission.
We include them in it.
We don't hide the fact that we have a business from our kids either.
They're included.
And how we lead our family is how we lead our team.
And, you know, like for some people, they would probably look at the way I lead and go, oh, she needs stronger boundaries.
Like, she's very available or she's, you know, does a lot and this and that.
And it's like, but that's my why, that's my vision.
My vision is for my team to succeed.
My vision is for more women to have this.
It's so much bigger and like enormously bigger than just me.
And that's how we're mother as women.
It's not about us.
And that's not a bad thing.
Like I think, and I've probably been guilty of this, of like the narrative around like, oh, women, like mums need to stop putting their kids first and they need to put themselves first.
And like, as if that's a bad thing.
And yes, we definitely need to look after ourselves 100%.
Like you can't help others when your cup is not full, right?
So 100%, yes, you need to look after yourself.
And also, I don't want to shame the part of you that is deeply compassionate and that deeply cares about other people.
And that actually does want everyone to win and rise and succeed.
That is a beautiful thing.
And I have, and again, I'm saying this because I feel like I've been guilty of this at the time, you know, at times as well of like shaming that part of moms and being like, no, you need to put yourself first.
Like think of yourself, be selfish, like look after yourself.
And then everyone else, you know, will win and your kids will win, your parent, your team will win, blah, blah, blah.
Like your partner will win because you've looked after yourself.
Yes.
And also, I also know people who have done that and that don't actually care enough about other people.
And it's as the center of their entire business and their team actually get barely anything and don't get enough support because they actually are too focused on themselves.
So like, and it's been a light bulb moment seeing that because I'm like, well, actually being a mom and that side of you that is like the lioness that would do anything to like run in front of a truck to save your kids.
That's how we lead our team and our team feel that.
They feel that.
Yeah.
I feel we move at a much different speed as well having kids because we have pockets of time that we need to stick to, right?
And also like when we get things out and like you said, activating our voice and, you know, really speaking our truth or saying what we need, what we want.
We do that with authenticity because also we don't have time to think about it for three hours.
We just do it and it comes from a place of such like genuine care or willingness or curiosity or I need this, really like claiming what is yours to have as part of your vision, right?
But I also think we move a lot differently and in motherhood, we grow into our role as a mother, right?
We first learn how to deal with a newborn, then with a toddler, and then kids, and then now we have kids of different ages, and now we're moving to the next chapter, you're like, okay, how do I deal with that?
And we also constantly need to learn.
And I think it's the same with our business.
I had such an interesting moment just two days ago where I was in the supermarket with the kids, and everyone knows it goes to the supermarket with kids, you know what that's like sometimes.
But they were busy looking for their things, and I did my shopping on my own, and I was like, whoa, that's a game changer.
Okay, the big one took care of the little one.
And on that same day in the evening, my little three-year-old went to the bathroom by herself.
Something very small, but I was like, wow, wait a second, I'm on the verge where this all shifts.
Things are getting easier.
And at the same time, I feel like I'm on that verge in my business where things are shifting, where things are starting to run on their own, and starting to like compound, and starting to like grow as I'm growing in my identity as a whole.
And that's why I love the comparison you both make.
And like our identity as being a mother, and our identity as an entrepreneur, it is so entirely interconnected.
And it's just incredible.
And how important that work is though that you do, whether to grow as a mom, knowing how to deal with your child of that new age all of a sudden, and how to hold your business and your money better.
And I this morning just had a call with Adelina, Adelina Vaughan, who you brought into our lives.
And she was also a recent guest of your podcast, but I'm in her Embody Your Wealth container.
And it's just like, oh my God, the amount of work you get to do in order to get to that level and to hold more.
Like I was not aware.
And when everyone says, you gotta like shift your identity and you've gotta do this and you've gotta grow.
And I was like, okay, okay, let's try to do that.
And now I get it.
I'm like, I see.
Oh my goodness.
What a change in, like what a change.
And it's just so incredible, the power we get to put together within motherhood, within business, with our money story.
When we allow ourselves to just grow and move.
It's incredible.
Yeah, there's so much that motherhood teaches us that gives us a unique selling point or like a step up in coaching and mentoring as well.
Like that story that you just told of your children in the grocery store, like that is such a big part of like, you don't want to disempower someone by telling them exactly how to do something.
They need to learn themselves.
Give a man a fish, he'll fish for a day.
Give a teacher man to fish for a lifetime, right?
So, which is what I'm really passionate about in the mentoring space as well, is like actually teaching skills, not giving them the answer.
And that it's the same with kids, right?
So there's so many things like that, that you would teach your kids that way.
You wouldn't just do it for them, and I'm really big on that with my kids as well, is they pack their own lunch, they're doing everything themselves.
So, and if they want something done, I'm happy to help them, but they have to give it a shot first themselves.
And again, like it's like these things play out in our businesses and how we show up as a mentor and a coach as well.
So it's like, there's never really a distinction, there's just motherhood impacting and I guess, influencing how you coach and coaching influencing how you mother.
It's like all very similar.
Yeah.
And as you said, it's that identity of the woman that can hold it.
That can be the one.
I love the way that you intentionally said, I can be this and that.
It can be this and that.
There's space for this and that.
And I love that because for our listeners who are moms doing it all, juggling it all, all the balls, all in the air, all at the same time, what would you say then could be those first steps to actually increase their income without adding more hours or feeling that they're stretching their limits to the point where they cannot sustain it anymore?
What would you say could be the best first tangible steps that they could be taking in that direction?
When I first started my business, I only had one child, but I knew I wanted to have two more.
There was a specific set of criteria that I was looking for.
I was working full-time at the time as well, so I really did not have much time at all to build something on the side.
I needed something with systems, I needed something with outsourcing, I needed something with automation, I just needed something that basically I could be doing in an hour or so a day and building to the point of, for me, it's always been passive income.
As soon as I learned what passive income was, I was like, it is worth every minute of my time to be building passive income streams.
And it blew my mind how many people didn't understand passive income at the time too.
I was working a professional job and working my way up the ladder, and I would just look around the office and be like, are these people really happy to just work the rest of their life building someone else's business?
Like, do they not have the goal of building passive income?
And it blew my mind.
And so I was like, I don't care if it takes me five years, 10 years, 20 years, I am building passive income because my career will never ever ever, doesn't matter how hard I work, it will never be able to provide that for me.
And so when I found something that did hit that criteria of being able to outsource, I had leads come in through ads and I had a little chat with them in DMs, got them on a sales call, which was outsourced.
It wasn't even me.
While I was at work and I was making high ticket sales like that for my whole first year, with so many systems and so much outsourcing, I was like, this is it.
This is what all women need.
Everyone needs this.
Everyone needs systems that do the heavy lifting and automation and professionalism and all of that so that they can build their business.
By no means was it passive yet.
There was some indirect commission coming in, but most of it was direct and I was really putting in the work to build that.
But then I replaced my income within 12 months and I haven't had to work for someone else for six years now.
I pretty much semi-retired at 29 years old.
Incredible.
So that is worth every second to build, because what I earn now passively would have been like five, six months of what I would have earned when I was working that job, is what I earn now.
So that's where I saw it wasn't just passive, it was also uncapped.
It was also the fact that I could earn around my family and the more successful I became, the more my income was more passive and didn't require me to be so present.
So every other option was like the more money you earn, you have to be even more present.
You have to do even more hours.
You have even more responsibility.
Whereas like I saw with this, it was the opposite.
And it took up over night, but my gosh, it doesn't happen at all in a normal career.
Exactly.
So many moms with little kids are also so scared to start now.
It's like, oh, I don't want to miss out on their life now.
I don't want to do, I don't want that to take away from me being a mother and everything.
And they start late or they never start at all.
Worst case, right?
But it's so amazing the reframe you give to this because the sooner you start, the sooner you build that, the more you can enjoy that family time.
As they're growing up, you can really, really be that present mom that we say that we want to be.
We can be that because we have built that foundation and put the systems in place and had things also come in compound and have like passive income.
And I think that is really, really inspirational.
How do you, just maybe the one last question as well.
Do you have any rituals or systems that help you stay in control of your finances now that, you know, not to cause any overwhelm, but more in an empowering sense?
So every time I pay an invoice or a bill, I say paid with gratitude.
So I will either respond to it or I will send a message or I will like say within myself, paid with gratitude.
So even my cleaner, when I pay her, I message her and I send the screenshot and I'm like paid with gratitude.
So I'm always paying with gratitude for what that money has actually gifted me.
So when I pay my cleaner, it has gifted me outsourcing cleaning an entire house.
You know, when I pay invoices in my business, I'm paying for whatever I have outsourced, whatever service that invoice has delivered to me.
So I'm always actually paying.
I think this is like a really energetic thing.
It's a little bit more of the woo woo stuff.
But when people feel real scarcity around money, it's usually because if they're paying for something or something goes out, they are worried about that money coming back in.
They have a fear or a scarcity around if I pay X amount, can I make that back?
Will that return to me?
And so if you actually flip the energy and you pay gratitude every time money comes out, and you expect it to come back in tenfold, like you're expecting like, this is great, like an invoice has gone out, I know that it will come back in, I'm expecting it come back in tenfold because look at what it gave me.
Like, and really paying gratitude for what it is that you've invested in, like everything is an investment.
You're investing, you're not spending, it's not a cost, it's an investment.
Like really changing your language around these things, that would be one.
Another one that's probably more of, it's a bit more masculine, but healthy masculine is all of my money goes into my business account, like everything goes in, all of the invoices, everything goes out.
I pay myself once a month, and I'm always looking at like what came in, what came out, what did I pay myself?
And looking at this monthly and paying gratitude for the month that I had.
In the highs, in the lows, everything in between and looking at that as a system, a system that obviously we need to be across as business women, we need to be across our numbers and if it was a good month, great.
What contributed to that?
Like what was it that contributed to you having a really great month?
If you didn't have a great month, like looking at, okay, what needs to change next month?
All of that.
But also just, again, like paying gratitude and being responsible with your money.
I find, and I discussed this on my podcast as well recently, when people come into money, they spend it like crazy.
Not really investments, like actually spending, instead of going like, okay, well it's going into my business account and it's not going to me personally until I pay myself as a director of my company once a month, on the same day every month.
So it's not your money to spend, like it's your business' money.
It is not your money to spend.
I don't see it as my money to spend until I pay myself.
So I think that distinction as well, especially as you start earning more and more money, you have to have that distinction.
Otherwise, you run the risk of your money not actually working for you, and your money needs to create more money.
So if you're just paying yourself or you're basically using it for personal expenses, you're not actually helping that money to earn more money.
And you can get into that season of spending because you want to look rich and you want to enjoy that lifestyle of having more money.
But what I talk about a lot is Rich Bish moves, which is not necessarily buying the Louis Vuitton handbag.
It's not necessarily going to the Maldives on a holiday.
It's actually getting your money to work really smart for you to make more money and to build wealth long term.
So, an example of that is we just did a knockdown rebuild recently.
We just sold a couple of months ago, and we've just bought a new place, and we're about to renovate.
We've got building plans in the works at the moment.
We are not living in a very flesh house.
Like it is just like a 70s red brick house, right?
You just be like, oh yeah, it's a normal house.
It's in a good suburb in Sydney near the beach and stuff, but it's like a pretty ordinary house to look at.
We made $900,000 on our last flip, right?
Like on the knockdown rebuild that we did, we'll likely make about 500k in this one and we're going to keep doing that as investments and as another form of building wealth, right?
But most people want the instant gratification of living in a really nice fancy house now rather than doing the rich, rich roof, which is playing the long-term game, right?
We don't have 900k sitting in the bank account because we reinvested that in property.
These are the things that are like the rich bitch moves that are going to get you further long-term is playing the long-term game and making your money earn for you rather than the short-term instant gratification of buying the thing or having your wealth basically hanging in your closet or parked in your driveway rather than in your net worth, which is what I'm really passionate about.
I love that.
We've took, we've taken a lot of notes on that.
No, definitely.
Thank you for being so inspiring and to really lead by example in the money world.
Absolutely.
I want to say, as I was mentioning to Jess before we started recording, that when you are sharing from the space of saying, hey, make your money work for you, understand what passive income is and master it in all of its ways and forms.
Because there's not only one way that you can do passive income, there's many ways.
And finding the sweet spot combination for you is where it's at.
Because that's where you start to really have all the streams of income coming in, and you get to be even more smart and more intentional about how to make it work even further and further and further.
Because that is what Money Ultimate Lease Goal is.
It's just to do the heavy lifting for all of us.
And when I had the opportunity to be in San Diego this past summer, and see you walk, and I put it in air quotes because you were not physically there, but Dee was holding the phone and you were doing the walk to receive the unlocking.
Because pretty much that walk to me symbolized you unlocking a whole new level of what passive income we can and really enjoy in the enagic world.
And it's like from now until your kids are grandchildren themselves, you're going to be receiving a steady amount of money.
And that is what this is about, is just to see someone like you who can inspire us to unlock those levels and to bring it home in such a great way to say, look, it is a staircase.
We are not going to go from zero to a hundred, but this is a great way to start.
And the takeaways that I have from you being here, Jess, are priceless.
They really are priceless and invaluable.
And we want to really thank you for sharing with us, what are those starting points and shifts that we can start already making to go into that direction.
But you certainly walk the talk.
That is my message.
We really make sure that we have conversations with the people that are living and embodying that.
You have already that identity, of course, and we just want to make it possible for everyone, every mom boss out there, to listen to and to take notes and implement, which is also a very important part.
So we definitely want to thank you for coming in with us today.
And we will be sharing all of your information in our show notes.
If you want to start following and please do so straight away.

And you can really get like a deeper dive into, you know, what are her strategies?
What are her hacks?
What are her takeaways and the shifts that we can all start making?
Because as you said, more money in the hands of women and good people is really a blessing for the planet.
And we need to start talking money like if it's a second language.
So thank you so much for being here with us today.
Thank you so much for having me.
It's been an absolute honor.
