We are Desiree and Iva, and this is Mom Bosses Abroad.
Hi, and welcome to a new episode of the Mom Bosses Abroad podcast.
I am Iva Perez, and I am here with my podcast co-host Desiree Gonzalez.
And there's two words that can trigger a whole nervous system response.
For some, it's curiosity.
For others, it's a bit of instant suspicion that it might sound scammy or too good to be true.
What's the catch?
And these two words are uncapped income.
But here's the real question.
Why have we normalized working harder for less?
And villainized the idea of earning more with ease.
So in today's episode, we're unpacking the full truth about what uncapped income actually means, and why it's one of the most logical, liberating, and legal ways to earn in this new economy, especially for moms abroad, where time is so scarce, energy is precious, it's such a precious asset, and the idea of scaling impact and income without burning out sounds like fantasy, but it's not, and today we're going to prove it.
So hey, Des, and I'm excited to be talking about this today.
Hi, Iva, so am I, I am so happy we're finally kind of unpacking this topic.
And like you said, these two words that are really raising eyebrows, they are, you know, having all of these weird reactions to people, when we're really just sharing from our heart and sharing what we found and how amazing it is.
For me, it started specifically with a conversation that I've had with someone who is generally interested in that business and the idea.
But once she heard those two words, she was like, I don't know, I don't know, this is weird.
This is, it sounds really scammy to me, and how is it possible?
And I feel we need to talk about this because it's interesting that it sounds suspicious to someone.
And I really truly believe it is because of their own relationship with income, with time, and their kind of knowledge and their status quo of thinking what's possible for me.
And anything beyond to what they're usually used to knowing or hearing seems scammy in quotation marks, right?
So it's so interesting.
So let's maybe break it down first about what it actually means to be in a capped income.
What does a capped income mean?
Right.
So it's really how traditional jobs or even businesses, they often fall into this, right?
Like every business that I know now falls into the capped income because you work more to earn more.
You're really limited by hours.
There's only how many hours in the day?
24.
For moms, there's even less, okay?
So like we don't have that much time to work.
And if we lose even more of that time, our income also generally gets smaller.
Then there's also that whole client capacity.
There's only so many, for example, clients or like people that we can see if we are running a practice already, right?
Or it's not possible to always be physical, physically present somewhere.
And we often hit those ceilings.
Once these resources are no longer, right?
We hit our ceilings of time, energy, that whole thing of salary and promotions, I really truly feel that we can't be or have been conditioned with like, there is the salary that you can earn in that position, your qualification from university, for example, gives you the, you know, the ability to join this position.
And then there's a range of salary that you are able to earn until you get your promotion.
So there is in our minds, there have been no real pathway of thinking, I could be earning more, because everyone said, no, no, no, no, in your age, in your experience, in your skill set, this is your potential of earning and that's it.
Don't you agree?
I feel that this is, it's such a big conditioning, as you say, and it's, it makes sense that for the mind, it will sound very foreign.
It will sound foreign because that is, especially if you've been brought up in, in a traditional household where your parents worked and they had really that sense of, you know, this is as far as we can go, given the time circumstances or the energy circumstances, or even as you say, the hierarchical circumstances, because yes, you're right, I remember being in corporate and hearing a story from one of my fellow colleagues who said, you know, he was earning part of his salary on commission.
So one part of the salary was fixed, but the other one was variable based on commissions.
And he got to the point where he was starting to make more than the actual VP.
And HR had to intervene, and they had to create a whole different system because it seemed like, no, like how can it be?
How can it be that you don't have the title or the position, or the power authority, so to speak, and you're making more in dollars and cents?
And so that was really a very jarring example of what capped actually means in the business world.
And so, yeah, it absolutely makes sense that we grow up with this models of what earnings should be like and look like.
Wow, that's crazy.
So it's actually, you know, the businesses that put these caps on, they limit it, like on a jar, it's a boop, you screw a chat, and you cannot escape from that.
That is crazy.
Also, the reality of the capped income that's in a mom terms would be really that we can't make more money without sacrificing more time with our kids.
I have friends back home in Germany who, you know, after having kids, they go into part-time roles when, if they do decide to go back to work or they have to go back to work, right?
They do part-time because yes, they have children now, they have to pick them up, right?
They have to kind of be.
And more and more moms, which is really sad to me, also say, I need to work longer hours.
I'm now going to do, they do it in percentages.
I'm now going to earn like work 75% of the time, 90% of the time.
You know, they go up because they need the income or something.
So of course, what happens, they get to spend less time with their kids, which is really sad as well.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And that whole idea to me, it also is, it feels a bit, how can I say, it's not reflective of reality either.
Even if you put it in percentage modes and you say like, oh, I'm working only 75%.
So my paycheck is going to be caught by 25% because it's going to be reflective of that output of work.
But in reality, I feel that most of people are very ethical, and most of us are very responsible, and most of us really want to do the best work that reflects our potential and it reflects our abilities.
And so nobody is going to go in putting less than 100%, even if it's 75%.
You know what I mean?
I feel that that whole notion seems to abstract, and it's really not even the real truth of what amount of work you actually end up putting in, because you do care, right?
You do care about making sure that that last email got sent, and you're not sort of saying like, oh, no, no, no, it's 103, so I'm three minutes beyond the time.
Like, nobody looks at it that way, I feel.
So we end up also being trapped in that model.
Trapped and capped, that's right.
So it really comes down to if your income is tied to your time, it's capped, full stop.
Yeah, it really is.
So what do we actually mean by earning an uncapped income?
Oh, yes, I'm always looking in how I can support and upgrade my toxic-free lifestyle.
And lately, I was thinking that until now, I failed to look at the most basic necessity we rely on every day, the water we drink.
Water is our most valuable natural resource, and it's vital to nourish and hydrate our body that is made of 70% water.
But whilst a water may appear the same, not all water is created equal.
So finally, I have found one machine that can filter and restructure regular tap water into five types with over 60 uses.
From electrolyzed reduced water rich in hydrogen and antioxidants for drinking, to highly alkalized and oxidized waters replacing toxic cleaners and personal products in your home.
It's from Japan and you know I love and trust all things made here.
I feel so good that my kids get to drink this straight from the tap.
Do you want to feel this good too?
Well, I put everything in an e-booklet for you.
Grab it today by visiting oilyessentialsfamily.com/water.
Iva and I do mention that a lot and we have a whole chart if you want to take a look.
It is in our 30-minute webinar.
You go to mombossesabroad.com where you can see that we deep dive, or actually we're deep diving in this episode, but we do touch on that.
And so, Iva, what do we actually mean by saying uncapped income and what's possible here?
So when we're talking about uncapped income, what we mean is that there really is no ceiling.
You can keep earning without being limited by your time, your energy, or your location.
So one scenario that I feel a lot of us could identify with, just to make it very illustrative, and this is just one example of uncapped income, is I know that everybody must be familiar with this Christmas, a super popular Christmas song, All I Want for Christmas is You, by Mariah Carey.
And I love that song, by the way.
It's so uplifting, and it puts me in the Christmassy spirit.
But anyway, this song was released in 1994, and since then, it has generated over $60 million in royalties.
So Mariah Carey is earning an estimated $2.5 to $3 million annually just from this single track.
So the reason why this income is considered uncapped is because it's not directly tied to the number of hours she works each year.
She's just benefiting from the song's enduring popularity, and the royalty structures that are in place that allow her to earn this way.
So as long as the song continues to be streamed and purchased and played globally, she's going to be continuing to earn money on that.
And that is an example of what uncapped income is all about, is that it's not tied directly to your output, your effort, your energy, or any direct work that you can tie in to the money that is being earned.
Mm-hmm, mm-hmm, it's, that's amazing.
I didn't know that.
Wow.
I should write a song, perform a song, or maybe not.
But yeah, uncapped really doesn't mean it's anything fake or magical or scammy, right?
It just means it's leveraged income.
So we use in our business as well, lots of systems, lots of automations, and it's a high ticket model.
So we can literally earn while we sleep, because again, we're in different time zones, right?
We have smart systems set up.
We can sell globally without actually being present.
Like my team now is spread out in like seven different countries, but I live in Japan.
I actually have, I don't have anybody in Japan, to be honest.
Like everyone is overseas, which is awesome because like I am able to do that.
Like it doesn't matter.
And us, especially as, you know, expatriates, people living abroad, it's just such a key to what we do because it doesn't matter.
And it's like, oh, but what if I move?
Yep, perfect.
Your network just gets, keeps getting bigger when you move bigger and bigger and bigger, which is awesome, right?
And we are able to really help others do the same, right?
Do like once we've figured out a system, which we truly have, you just multiply that, like you duplicate that across.
And it doesn't mean that for each and every person, we have to necessarily come up with a new way, a new system or some things like, no, it's something that works.
We get to tweak it to who we are.
We just had that conversation as well.
But we can absolutely not re-create the wheel every time and really leverage on what's already been done for us.
Exactly.
So I guess to put it a little bit more in an illustrative way, is the notion of uncapped and leveraged.
They go together.
So one has to exist for the other one to actually be the result.
Leveraged income, or when we talk about a leveraged online business model, which is what Desiree and I are doing, and this is what you can find out more in this 30-minute webinar that we put together for you, is that you are using leverage to create that uncapped income.
It means that you have tapped into systems or assets or teams that have this multiplying effect, like it multiplies your effort.
And that's what, you know, Desiree, you're really exemplifying and saying, like, I am in Japan, but I have team members in the rest of the world.
And I don't have to be the one that is following up on, on, you know, distribution systems and duties and taxes and importations and tariffs and whatnot, because this has already all been built into the systems.
And so when you think about uncapped, then it's like, okay, you are, you're having an uncapped income because it is leveraged, because you are already dialing in on leveraged or on leverage, meaning, you know, all the systems and automations and what is possible.
So leveraged is sort of like the vehicle that gets you there, and uncapped is the destination, right?
It's like what is possible for us when we lean into it.
And that is why you're not limited by this one-on-one types of hours, you're not limited by geography or a single income stream.
In fact, this is something that we really want to bring to the table because we are mom bosses abroad.
And the way that we started, and I believe that I can speak for the two of us, is that the way that we started is because we are very multi-passionate and we have different avenues of exploration and purpose that we want to bring into the world.
And within that, we have found that this leveraged online business model is just another avenue.
It's just another pathway that allows us to tap into more multiple streams of income.
Why is that?
Because when we are only doing, or when we are only dependent on that one source, which can be like a traditional nine to five, let's say, but you get sick, or someone in your family gets sick, God forbid, and you have to go and take care of them, and you're not showing up, then you're not able to bring in the revenue, right?
You don't get paid because you're not showing up, you're not doing the work.
But if you have that source of income and you pair it with a leveraged online source of income like what we are doing, then you can say, well, this happened as life usually tends to throw curveballs at all of us in one way or another.
But let's say something happens and you have to stop working.
Well, this leveraged income model is there to supplement and it continues to be running in parallel or in tandem, so to speak.
So now you're literally earning while you're sleeping.
You're literally earning in a way where you can be out and about, holidaying, going to a retreat, visiting family and friends, taking a vacation in the middle of the year just because.
And this leveraged system is going to be taking care of the rest.
I know.
I love that.
I love the fact that we're both over on the brink of very long summer holidays, right?
Where our kids are not in school.
Both of our families will be traveling for a long time.
And it's exciting because we are, yes, prepping for that, but also knowing our business is not going to stop because as an entrepreneur, we don't have the fixed salary, you know, but hey, we can also travel.
I'm going to be traveling for two months.
First of all, with a job, I wouldn't be able to do that.
Second of all, like I don't, as an entrepreneur, usually when you stop working, your money stops flowing in, right?
When you stop putting in the time.
But because of the system, I am able to, first of all, have a team, right?
That also, like we have a team, so it's not just us, but it's also the systems that we have in place, honestly, allow us to be fully there, present on our summer holidays now, and things are still moving.
We're still going to be generating four-figure income, here and there and there and there because of just what we've laid out, the foundations that we have built or that have already been built for us, which is awesome.
And so, it's, yeah, the work is not going to stop even during this break now, which is such a such a, and name me one other business where that is possible, you know, like there is not much out there where you can truly say that.
Absolutely, and this is part of, I guess, a new wave of really creating a new economy for yourself and your family.
It's this idea that can you pause and just imagine for a second that your income isn't tied to how many hours you work.
And that there are thousands of families who are already enjoying this to a greater extent.
How would that change your life?
Because that is what we're talking about today.
We need to be open-minded to think that, you know, we can still work.
We're not saying that this is the end all of everything.
Nobody is really looking towards saying, I just want to lie in a hammock for the rest of my life and not move a finger.
There is purpose here.
There is the idea of impact.
There is this sense of it's bigger than just making money.
We are tying all of this to a bigger purpose, and we're tying all of this to our values and to the legacy that we want to leave our kids.
So there will still be work, whatever that is for you.
But your work, it's going to keep working for you even when you're not.
That is the conversation that this is all about.
And for us moms, we need this uncapped model.
I really believe we do because we don't want to be compromising our time, those precious milestones, being present for our kids just because we have to work, just because we have to show up, just because we have to fill a chair in a cubicle.
Especially if there's a different way out.
And if you are an entrepreneur, let's say you're not in the 9 to 5, but you do have your own business, well, just like any other baby, any other human baby, your business is going to grow and it's going to have different needs as your life expands.
And so what we want to present to you is this idea that you can tap into something that can evolve with you and that you can really create it in such a way that is in integrity with who you are, it's in integrity with your values, it's in integrity with what you stand for, and it's in integrity with your purpose with a capital P, like beyond just one year into the future or two years into the future.
Like what does this look like for you?
So it is a bit of a bigger conversation, and then I'm going to bring it back into the fold with the uncapped conversation, because I feel it's important to have this sense that we are not here just dangling a shiny object and saying, oh, this is the next best thing.
No, this is something that truly speaks on a soul level for Desiree and I, and we are sharing it from that space.
And so we also wanted through this episode to really squash all those misunderstandings and all of those feelings that uncapped has to be shady or unethical in a way, because it doesn't have to be.
It's very legal, indeed.
Yes.
I love how you put that all together.
That is so amazing.
And I think here is really why people misunderstand it in the first place, is because we've already said, right?
We've been programmed, like really conditioned to believe that we need to work hard for every cent.
Right.
You know, as opposed to now, what we get to do, and I love that you brought to the point that whole the impact.
We are both on a mission for health, creating an impact in health and wealth.
Something that goes way beyond to our lifetime.
Yeah.
And that's funny.
You know, and that is so everything we do now has a much, much greater purpose.
It goes beyond.
Yeah.
And we are on the threshold of a new economy.
Yeah.
And I just want to bring this home with more examples because I feel it's so important to just visualize it.
And this is like searchable, Googleable information.
But if you go and you Google how much the CEO of different social media platforms earn per year, let's say, you know, the known, the big ones like the big social media platforms that I'm not going to mention right now.
But, you know, you can just say, you know, what does the CEO of this platform makes a year or gets paid?
You're going to see that usually it's around the, let's say that the $5 million, $3 million, $5 million range.
And if you start to look up what is the amount of money that creators in those platforms are able to make and rake in on a yearly basis, they are three times, four times, five times more than the actual CEO that runs the platform.
So when we start to see that there's a shift in the system, it's because we can we can leverage and pun intended on this.
We can leverage that there's a shift happening because now the people that are creating on these platforms are able to out earn the CEOs that are running the platforms.
And by the same token, we can also say, okay, perhaps the corporate world might need a little bit more time.
But right now, there is a way that I can sort of have my cake and eat it too.
There is a way that I can start playing the game of what is it that is my passion and that I love to do and that I want to continue to do.
And what is a leverage system that I can use to my advantage to create more impact or to be even more choosy if you want to use that word about the people that I want to serve?
Because sometimes we're like, oh, I'll do everything for everyone, you know, as long as I have money coming in.
But what about if this business model allows you to say, no, these are my terms, these are my conditions, this is how I want to show up in this arena.
And I'm able to do that because there's money coming in in this different way.
Isn't that a fantastic way to look at what uncapped means and how it can be applied to your life?
Absolutely.
Absolutely.
So the real scam here is actually staying stuck in a system where you trade time for money forever, forever in a day.
That's the real scam.
But that's what people don't see often, right?
So if someone goes like, but it sounds too good to be true, that's probably the trauma response that you have to that broken system, right?
Or it's really that you are so suspicious.
Why do you feel so suspicious of it?
But that comes from scarcity thinking, right?
It's like abundance is actually the natural state at which we should thrive in each and every day when we align with the right model.
It's what we get to have, and especially at Mom's.
Like, I'm so happy about this few months coming up, because this will create memories.
We will have so much going on.
My business will grow, and I know that already.
It's like a fact almost, right?
It's just so beautiful.
And I get to spend time with some of my best friends who are now on this road with me, you know?
It's like, it's just, it's incredible.
So abundance, the abundance mindset, that's where I want to live.
That's where I want to thrive.
That's where I want to develop.
That's where I want to grow.
And I'm not going to go back to that, you know?
Because this is available to us, and this is, like you said, Iva, the new way of how we are going to do things in the future.
Yeah.
And I love what you're sharing, and the space from which you're sharing it, because it should be the norm more and more.
And what a great blessing we have to be really bringing this message to a lot more women who might find themselves already questioning, is this it?
Like, is this really truly it?
And there's nothing else, right?
Only this sense of, I have to work harder and more and burn out along the way to one day perhaps retire and then start to live life and then start to be happy.
And it doesn't have to be that way.
We have just been programmed to believe that we need to work hard for every cent, but that is not necessarily true.
And so when we take closer look at what uncapped income actually means and how you can access it via different pathways, and this is one that we want to offer, because it's one that aligns with our values, it's one that aligns with our vision, mission, purpose, and it really is an amazing complement to the other businesses that we have going on and the other projects that we have.
It's just a no-brainer for us, and that's why we love to bring it into the spotlight and sharing it with others.
And so there is, rightfully so, many instances where the word MLM, direct sales, network marketing, are words that are also drawing in from the, it's a scam feeling or sense that, yeah, I need to avoid it at all costs.
But this is where doing your due diligence is important.
This is where you can say, okay, what is this about?
Let me research further.
Like, what are we talking about?
Is there a product involved, right?
How legitimate is it?
Does it have any certifications?
What are those platforms where I can just inform myself more about testimonials, people sharing their experiences and their stories?
And a lot of the season in this podcast, this fifth season in this podcast, has been to showcase many of those stories.
I mean, these are real life human beings, beautiful women, beautiful mom bosses who can certify and testify and really assert the legitimacy of this vehicle, of what it has done for them, of the benefits that it has brought in their lives and the lives of their loved ones.
And still, you know, do your due diligence.
We are just bringing it to the forefront, to the conversation so that you can take a closer look.
Perhaps you've heard of it, but now you're hearing it differently.
And maybe perhaps this is the time where you say, okay, I'm going to click on play, and I'm going to take a look at this 30-minute master class and find out if this business model is the one that finally aligns for myself.
You have absolutely nothing to lose and absolutely everything to win as far as we're concerned, just by investing this 30 minutes into looking into it.
And we are really on the other side, Des and I, we're not a recording, we're not an AI generated, but producing this podcast, we are real people with real families, real lives going on.
And we are on the other side of the phone, so to speak, whenever you're ready to have a deeper dive into what this is about.
If you found value, inspiration, or a nugget of wisdom in any part of our conversation, we would be so grateful if you could take a moment to show your support.
