There's something very magical and special that happens from the perspective of spending time in community with other kindred spirits, with people that are in the same wavelength.
There is a big, I feel, gap in society where we are just on autopilot most of the time.
And so we hardly have this sense of being seen and being heard.
And when we are in a space where there's such a strong community, you actually feel that bond that goes beyond words.
We are moms, we are bosses, and we're living abroad.
And in this brand new season of this exciting podcast, we are boosting the woman to woman connection through deep, intimate conversations to pause, reflect, and go beyond the skiing deed.
And we are here to celebrate your unique journey.
No matter how old your business or your babies or where you are in the world, you are not alone.
It's time to go deeper, understand better, and lean into more harmony and fun along the way.
We are Desiree and Iva, and this is Mom Bosses Abroad.
Hi, and welcome to another episode of the Mom Bosses Abroad podcast.
I am Iva Perez, and as always, I have the best company with my beautiful co-host, Desiree Gonzalez.
Hi, Tens.
Hi, Iva.
Good to be back.
I know.
Back in the studio once again.
And today, we are going into a different direction with what we have been sharing throughout this whole season, which is what I would call a retreat rewind.
Because this summer, we had the absolute pleasure of seeing each other in person.
So first of all, we were able to spend a lot of time together and to have, you know, the kids also come together and share and to be like in the same space and in the same place.
But also we were invited by a leader in Enagic, Curing Valley, to co-facilitate a women's retreat.
And it was such an absolute honor.
And it was also this beautiful reminder of the power of community and growth.
So today, I guess, what we want is to really take you behind the scenes and rehash a little bit of what were those conversations that we shared in that community.
And what were also some key takeaways that can inspire your journey.
So let's get started.
Yes, I think you really mentioned it as that power of community, I think first and foremost.
And even reflecting back onto the time we spent together over the summer, I felt the same sense of community, how important that is first and foremost, and that in fact, not every business holds such high values on community, but it does make all the difference.
So a lot of people actually asked me because they knew we were actually staying together and spending some more than a week together, right?
And they're like, oh, so did you do a lot of business things?
And I was like, actually, not really.
Like in that sense, not really.
However, what's almost more important was just the bonding we got to have, right?
The bonding, the spending time together.
And I think like reflecting back is that sometimes even more productive because it's like comparing it to the inner work as opposed to working off your to-do list, right?
There's so many things we want to do together.
Yes, but a lot of that can be done via what we're doing now.
We have Zoom calls, we have podcasts, we have meetings or whatever.
But the spending time together and being together and building that bigger bond can only be done in person.
And I think we really absolutely succeeded in that.
And it brought us even closer, which is amazing.
And when we got invited to the retreat, it was also such a beautiful way it all worked out.
But the timings is that, how powerful is it to have two guest facilitators coming into someone's retreat who are not just anybody, but we're part of the same bigger community.
And we are, we happen to be all in the same location.
But then also we have, we actually have things to share, right?
We have things to share and to teach.
Because the beauty of this business is that each one of us comes with a certain, like different types of skills, different types of backgrounds, and different types of gifts.
And therefore each and every one of us is completely different.
We have different journeys.
And so we felt absolutely honored and privileged to be able to share that from our side.
And there's something very magical and special that happens in, as you say, from the perspective of spending time in community with other kindred spirits, with people that are in the same wavelength.
There is a big, I feel, gap in society, where we are just on autopilot most of the time.
And so we hardly have this sense of being seen and being heard.
And when we are in a space where there's such a strong community, you actually feel that bond that goes beyond words, because there's a lot of things that you don't have to explain a lot, you don't have to justify, like you don't have to go into lots of the specifics.
It's more like you have this baseline and this common ground, and you can just take it from there and expand on that.
So that's fantastic.
And also when it comes to spaces like the retreat itself, where there was a beautiful group of women coming together from different places and different backgrounds, what I always feel is how high the oxytocin in that space is.
And it's the bonding hormone.
It's the hormone that women definitely crave, and we get it from other sources, but I feel that when we get it from being together and sharing from this is what lights us up, this is what our passion is, this is how we're coming together, it just lands different, different in a great way.
And of course, we get oxytocin from our family, from our kids, from our partners.
But between women, it takes it to a different level.
And I just feel that being in that space and having those opportunities are so, so important.
I feel that too.
Do you remember that electrical like energy we felt as we got out of the car, walked up that lawn beside this gorgeous rice paddy?
And you just, we were approaching the women, I have goosebumps just talking about it now.
And you felt that buzz, you felt, did you feel that too, right?
It's amazing and people welcomed us.
We haven't met each other in person, a few of us, we have never met in person, most of them actually.
And, but it was this instant like sisterhood because we're in something bigger together.
And we're going through similar journeys, different journeys, but all with the same kind of heartfelt mission.
And that was gorgeous to just get together.
And there's no filter, there's no pretending, there's no everyone can just be so vulnerable with each other.
And I think, like you said, it's something special that we only get from other women.
And yeah, so it's like, we were there to really give, but we received so much in return as well.
And we made a lot more connections, friendships were formed.
And yeah, it was just an absolutely beautiful experience.
And I just wanna go back to what you said, because it's true, like the moment that we arrived, everybody seemed like, it seemed like everybody knew us, the way that they were greeting us.
And as you say, perhaps there's a few faces that you have had some interaction and conversations with, but not to the level of embracing you like a long lost sister that you haven't seen in a while.
And that was the way that we were received.
And it was just so beautiful and refreshing to have that in person.
Because you can have it online as well.
Like you can get on a Zoom call and really catch up with friends.
But it was just really nice to be embraced that way.
And another magical thing is that we got to do it together.
I mean, it's something else, you know, we did it together.
And we bonded over that fact alone that we went there.
We both presented to completely different things.
Yet we did it together.
And we traveled together for many hours in the car, which was awesome.
You have an Indonesian background from on your mom's side.
And so it was really cute when we were also navigating a long car ride because roads and traffic and whatnot.
And then we need to go to the bathroom experience of where do you go in the middle of almost nowhere.
But also the fact that you shared, what was the name of that juice that you got?
It was a tea, I know.
The tea was a tea, right?
Yeah.
And you were like, this reminds me of childhood.
And it was just so nice to experience that because if I walk through this door, I would probably see it, but I wouldn't even notice.
Like it wouldn't have any sort of meaning to me.
But now it does.
Yeah.
Oh, it was just a beautiful day.
Hey, mama.
If you've been looking for a way to make an impact in health, create long-term wealth for your family, and design a freedom lifestyle, all while being part of an amazing supportive community, then listen up.
We found a business model that's not just about making money, but about doing soulful work that's truly aligned with who you are.
No more burnout, no more trading time for money, just a powerful, proven way to create real change for yourself and others.
If this speaks to you, head over to mombossesabroad.com and watch a quick 30-minute video that could completely shift your perspective on what's possible for your future.
Because, mama, you deserve freedom, abundance, and purpose.
Let's create it together.
So, we would love to share a little bit what we were invited to present to these group of women that had traveled mainly, I think most came from Australia, and came to spend, I believe, four days in Bali to receive this beautiful experience.
And what I love about the business that we're in, it's never just like a business retreat with screens and notebooks and desks to sit on.
But they are embodied retreats, which means there's a lot of soulful work that gets to be done, whether it's physical work, whether it's energy work, beautiful practices, Pilates, yoga, healing sessions, and then tied in with business strategies, with indeed a whiteboard comes out.
But, oh my god, that setting of the whiteboard in the middle of the rice paddies just hit different than sitting in the classroom or behind a Zoom screen.
So you'll have to follow us on social media to really see those images because that was best classroom in the world.
So I think I'll kick it off with the few things that I really wanted to bring to this group of women.
First of all, it was a big moment for me because up until the point of joining Enagic, I think I operated very differently.
For me, I was very much a business person and have been to a lot of business trips and business retreats where it is really all about that.
It's about the numbers.
It's about the trainings.
It's about the development things all very high-level corporate.
And I never really paid so much attention or I just frankly didn't have time for a lot of the inner work.
And I thought, well, that's not productive because I have a long to-do list.
And I even carried that type of work, which is fine in many, many circumstances.
That's just the way business gets done.
But I did carry that into my previous network marketing business, where I was really, really always bogged down with I have so many things to do.
Meanwhile, I had two little kids and time gets even more scarce and then you have even less time for anything other than hitting the taking the to-do list.
So, what I learned in my Enagic journey so far is really the fact that the inner work and the transformation and the soulful alignment with yourself first and foremost is often the most productive thing you can do in your day for your business.
And it took me a long time to understand this and to feel it and also then to measure it and my results.
And that is something that I really wanted to bring forward because for me, that was absolutely a game changer in the way I now run my business.
So, I really introduced the session as well that this is more than business.
It's about alignment, believe and becoming the woman who leads her life and legacy with a purpose.
So, I really instilled in the ladies that were there, the fact that we have to have a very, very, very strong belief system.
And in order to really tune in to that, I let them on a guided visualization, where I also used essential oils, which are really, really my passion, and where I really come from in my line of work post-corporate life.
And I wanted them to see themself.
It was a future-pacing one.
So really seeing themselves in the future, who they want to be, and then dialing back to standing there in Bali in this present day and what they get to do to reach what they had visualized and where they want to go to.
And it really starts with the whole mindset, right?
Believing, believing your belief in the industry that we're in, because it has certain reputations, but we got to believe that this industry is such a powerful, beautiful industry, and it is the future.
It really is.
And also the belief in the company that we're partnering with, the belief in the business model, the patented business model that we get to work with each and every day, because it's nothing like I have seen before, and I have been in network marketing many years.
Then, of course, the belief in the beautiful products that we represent and that we have infused and instilled into our lifestyle.
And then, most importantly, the belief in yourself.
And that's often where a lot of people have the block where they don't feel worthy or they have this imposter syndrome or something, but really the belief that no matter what, you can make that happen, however you want to shape your journey.
And then I proceeded into sharing just tips, you know, that I've also learned within my own journey about how we deal with people that come into our business, as in the leads that we have, the people we would love to partner with, how to speak to them, how to put ourselves in their shoes, how to really lead conversations with empathy, and also how to, you know, really focus our time in what we're doing, because often, especially as moms, right?
We are really beautiful multitaskers and also try to do so many things at the same time.
We have to.
That is the essence of motherhood.
However, what it also means to dial in into something that you would like to achieve.
And really flowing with energy.
Again, it's something really big that I've learned in my own journey.
But that you get to really flow with the way you feel.
If you are flying super high of energy, emotions, you're in the top mood because of an incredible, inspiring call you just got off, use that.
Use that to then talk to your people.
Use that to follow up.
Use that to craft messages because that energy shines through to whoever you're talking to, whoever you're writing to.
And then we do have days that we maybe don't feel it.
And again, that is felt on the other side.
So to also make sure, dial it back, do something else that day, you know, because enough with this forceful way of doing business.
We are women.
We have a different way we get to work, that we're allowed to work, and to really start to understand that and learn that about ourselves.
And really speaking into as well, the courage to do things differently, because a lot of the ladies there were actually did have an existing business or came from an existing business, and have just pivoted, and we have a certain way of doing things.
I know I certainly did, but how can we do things differently?
Right?
And to be a student once again, no matter of your successes in the past, no matter what, allow yourself to be a student and keep learning.
And then also learning how to be a self-led leader, to be the CEO of your own business.
We have beautiful mentors and leaders to lean on, but how can we actually start creating these businesses by ourselves as us?
You know, because each one of us leads a gorgeous business.
We all do it differently, but we all do it successfully in our own ways.
So we don't have to copy anyone.
We get to be authentically ourselves.
And it was a gorgeous session.
It was really, really, I felt just so complete delivering that because it was my newfound truth as well.
And yeah, it was just gorgeous.
And then just the most wonderful place as well.
I was there.
I know that it was really, really profound and magical what you shared with everyone during that time.
And I saw a lot of heads nodding, a lot of other beautiful women relating to what you were sharing, to your journey, to what it has been for you to incorporate more of the energetics into your business.
And it's always so inspiring.
And I love that you also framed it in a way which was like, hey, these are like the key things, and you really put them in that sequence so that nobody would get lost.
And also, I mean, when you were sharing with us the future pacing piece, for me, it's always like, yeah, there's this version of us that wants to be expressed.
Otherwise, we wouldn't have the desires that we have.
And so you allowed us to connect with that future version of us in a beautiful way and with the oils, also to tap more into that lame big brain of ours.
So yeah, I have to say, you should have been there.
But what I want to plug a little bit before I go into the complimentary part of what I shared, this is really the type of support and guidance that is available to anyone who wants to come into this business.
And in fact, we're putting together something at a bigger scale in the coming months.
And it's in the form of this really deep dive mentorship.
And you're going to get even more of what Desiree is sharing today.
You're really going to get that plus going even deeper into that.
And I feel that it's something that it's very exciting because it's not only Desiree's experience and knowledge and insights, but it's like we're coming together, like there's eight of us, right?
There's eight of us that are contributing to this mentorship journey.
And so it's available to anyone that is feeling already the pool and the call to say, you know what?
This is where I'm meant to be.
This sounds like me.
This feels aligned.
Like I can resonate with this values of community, of being in space with people that also want to make it happen.
So I just wanted to put that in.
Yeah.
Yes, it is exciting that we get to dive deeper into this.
And also that everyone who joins us in the journey can, will be able to tap into all of that, all of what we shared, what we gathered, the groundwork we've done.
And we'll give that to you when you join us.
And I think, yeah, what we're putting together is really sensational.
It's eight weeks, possibly nine weeks with a bonus week attached of absolute transformation, so that you can start your business really, really strongly.
Yeah.
And so that goes a little bit to the part that I shared during the retreat.
And what I have noticed is that there's a big word for me that shows up in my current practice, because I have found a way to mix and integrate, if you will, or harmonize, which is an even better word, which is this business with my hypnotherapy practice.
And there's a word that always comes around and around and around, and it comes around and around because of a very powerful reason, which is the word is alignment.
And so alignment is very important, because as Desiree was sharing, if you don't believe, if you don't have that belief in the business, in yourself, in the business model, in the products, in the lifestyle that comes along with it, then you're not going to be able to have that energetic coherence, as I call it.
And alignment is not only being aligned with the vision that you have, it's also the ability to be holding that alignment and then taking it a step further and holding your own leadership in an aligned way.
So one of the things that I have discovered in my practice is that alongside outdated beliefs that are no longer serving us, which is the scope of the work that I do, I work with a subconscious mind, there's also this sense of not being really sure what we can bring to the table when we're talking about a business model like this.
And I have seen a very common pattern for a lot of people that come in where they say, well, what am I supposed to talk about?
Or what is my niche?
Or who are the people that I'm supposed to be calling in?
And so there's this idea of like, well, the audience, like who's your ideal audience?
Who is your dream audience?
And who do you want to speak to?
And so we tend to go at these exercises from the perspective of thinking that dream or ideal audience is what sounds pretty, right?
What sounds like, oh yeah, this people sound cool.
I would love to be talking to those people.
But through the lens of human design, which is one of the tools that I bring to the table, the dream and the aligned and the ideal really fall into what you're already naturally designed to speak into and to help and to attract.
So it's already built in, like you came in with those factory settings already, and it's all a matter of aligning yourself to those settings so that it becomes more effortless and it becomes more natural and it's less of thinking your way through and rather just speaking from that authenticity and that alignment piece.
So for a lot of women especially, the whole aspect of going live, the whole aspect of just speaking into the message that you want to say, into what you're feeling into, can be very daunting at the beginning.
And I can understand that very well because we are on season five of this podcast.
We have done over a hundred episodes.
And I still don't like the way my voice sounds when I hear it.
You know, like, I still don't like it.
I still sort of cringe.
I'm like, do I really sound that way?
Like, it's just like, but I do it because at this point, it doesn't affect me the way it did at the beginning.
And I remember this, you and I used to like edit ourselves and like re-record.
And we're like, no, no, no, let's do it again.
And now this is the right word.
This is the right thing.
But I guess we learned also along the way was that you get to be coming from a place where if it feels authentic, then that's what it is.
Like you don't have to second guess it or edit yourself.
And I think that there's so many already episodes.
I mean, there's over 150 episodes that you can choose from.
Like just go and check them out.
There's either episodes where I just like little up, you know, like I say something, I mispronounce it.
Or we cry, you know, or voices get really broken because we're in the middle of the emotion.
But that's what it is because ultimately, there's two aspects then that I was sharing into the retreat was ultimately, there's the message.
It's like, what can I speak into that really creates this attraction field of people leaning in and saying, wow, I love it.
And it's not, I love it because it's groundbreaking.
It doesn't have to be, you don't have to reinvent the wheel.
But it's people leaning because it's authentic to who you are, even though it's a common theme or topic that a lot of other people are talking to.
And so when Des and I were little spring chickens in the podcasting world, we also were coming from the place of there's already a million podcasts out there.
What can we possibly do that is different and that it's groundbreaking?
But it wasn't about that.
It was more about they haven't heard it from us.
That's what's different.
They haven't heard it from two moms that are leading abroad going through the things.
And this is what makes it different, even though these are age old topics and and themes that every mother on the face of the planet can identify with.
So so that messaging part, when it comes to you entering a business like this and understanding what your human design is and what your throat center is about, what helps you to say, wow, I knew that already.
I was just second guessing myself because what Desiree has, her messaging, what she's better suited for, might sound a little bit better or whatever, right?
Because we like to go into those mind games with ourselves.
We like to see what the other neighbor is doing and we're like, oh, that looks cool.
Yeah, it looks cool because it's aligned to them.
What's going to look cool on you might be that, yeah, or it might be something different.
But as long as you understand that you have a very unique voice center with different channels, so these are like radio stations, and what type of music is coming out of each radio station, and which ones are you already naturally have that are broadcasting, then it's going to be easier.
And what I feel that a lot of us tend to do is that we want to take a cheat sheet from an upline, from a mentor, from someone that we're watching online, and we want to do it that way, and we want to say it with those words, and we want to sound like that, like, oh, I want to be the badass, or I want to be the woo-woo one, or whatever it is, right?
But it's more understanding, like, what are already the radio stations that you're broadcasting naturally and just harness those even more, lean in to those ones, because that is when your message becomes magnetic.
And the second aspect that I shared about was in lines with the word alignment is your aura.
It's that vibe that we have.
And everybody has a different aura.
And we have different auras because according to human design, each aura has a different type of role in this world.
Collectively, we all have different roles that when are put together, we really elevate the consciousness of the planet for the better.
And so some people have a very specific type of aura that it's very penetrating.
They look at you like they're doing an X-ray on you, right?
Sometimes it's like, oof, that's my husband, for example.
He has a very penetrating aura.
Like, I am happy that I check out in old boxes, meaning that I'm not ever hiding anything, because I know that he would see right through it.
He would be like, uh-uh, uh-uh, right?
He would just automatically see, like, uh-uh, this doesn't add up.
So, but he has that aura.
And, and, and Des and I, for example, we have, we fall under the same umbrella, which is a very magnetic, expansive type of aura.
So, when you heard Des share what she spoke about on the retreat, she, she spoke to what lights her up.
She spoke about being in this high energy, and from that high energy, leads start to come in.
Whatever she puts out there gets more likes, more shares, more people reach out, because she's using her aura to her advantage, which is this magnetic, expansive aura.
And so just because you have a penetrating aura, it doesn't mean that it's worse or that it's, or that it's bad.
It's different.
You use it in a different way.
When you have Desiree's type of aura, which is similar to what I have, it's a more expansive, it's a more a, you respond to what life is presenting to you.
And if you get lit up, go in that direction.
If you feel that sacral pull, go into that direction.
But not everybody has that.
So understanding your aura is certainly going to help you to place yourself in true alignment with your life, with your day, with your circumstances.
And even with those moments that, as Desiree say, can be off days or challenging days, or I just want the day to be over with type of days, or, right, it hasn't been my week type of day.
And so I really love to bring this into the sphere because it's also within the space of energetics, and it's also one of those main conundrums that I have seen over and over again from being now in the space of what's my niche, who am I supposed to talk to, and what am I supposed to be saying?
And I don't know, and it's always a little bit this back and forth of trying to figure it out.
When you can already tap into what you have inside of you, what you have been designed already within you, what are your factory settings in a way, and harness that?
And I love it because it's also very, once you start to get into it, and I speak to clients about it, they're like, yeah, you're right.
I sort of knew that already, but I was second guessing myself, because of course we live in a society where social media exposes us to other people's type of energy and auras and their alignment.
And we like that, we resonate with it, because they are being authentic.
So what the name of the game is for all of us here is what makes us put something out there, have that conversation, say that message, speak to that ideal audience in a way that allows them to lean in.
And that's going to come from you understanding your aura, how do you align also with your throat center and how you create this energetic coerence, which is so, so, so important.
And so that's also one of the things that we're going to be diving deeper, much, much more deeper in the mentorship that we have coming up in the next couple of weeks almost, right?
Because we're...
Next month, about five, six weeks from now.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And this is the level of support, and this is the level of co-creation that you have access to.
Not only Desiree and I are going to be some of your hosts, but you're going to meet other incredible leaders as well, that are bringing their own zone of genius into the table, and that you're going to be able to tap into.
I guess that the experience of doing the retreat for Des and I was really a great one to say, wow, this is something that we eventually want to take live as well.
We also want to be moving into doing more live retreats.
The podcast is not going anywhere, but this is just like a different facet of things.
And as we move towards that direction, what we can envision as a virtual retreat is this eight-week-long mentorship slash virtual retreat where you get to connect and be in community with others, and you get to really see that there's no need to reinvent the wheel.
You can really jump off from the platforms and the systems and the know-how and the insights that many of us have very, very generously shared and that we keep as best practices, and then you make them your own.
So, you know, it's that level of there's something that's already been done that is working, and how can you make it more yours so that it flows more easily.
But also, it was, the retreat itself was a wonderful experience in showcasing how this business really speaks to our values.
And it's a calling.
It's a calling for any other mom boss out there who's feeling the pool, who's saying, hey, I want what she's drinking.
Like, I want that.
And the invitation is always open.
The doors are always open.
Des and I are always here.
We're happy to share from this space, but we'd love to see you in other channels, right?
We'd love to see you in other formats.
And this retreat was one of them.
So yes.
Absolutely.
That's absolutely one of the things that mesmerizes me.
I mean, I've known Iva for many years now, and I'm very privileged to be in her space.
So I do get snippets of the magic she shares with others and all of her very extensive knowledge on what she does, and now the human design and the aura and all of that.
But can I just say, I learned so much.
I learned so much in that session myself.
And that's like the magic of working together and aligning yourself with other people who are different than you, because we constantly have the privilege to keep learning, keep developing ourselves, and really advancing in our being and getting to know ourselves.
And just, it's just so beautiful.
I don't think it'll ever stop.
It's really that way of the way we share the gifts with each other, especially now that we are officially united.
I mean, we've always collaborated, but now we're officially business partners within the world of Enagic.
And it's just, I think it's good.
It really matters which team you go into, because it matters the people that you can listen to and follow and learn from.
And like I said, I'm privileged to do this with Iva on many different levels.
And yeah, I mean, we'd love to have you in our space as well.
The door is indeed open.
If you do visit mombossesabroad.com, you can watch a 30-minute webinar that we've put together to show you or a training to show you what is it that we do, what is it that allows us to live in our fullest, authentic, beautiful, magical self where we can be us.
We don't have to mold to anyone else.
We can be us, yet we can achieve also high goals with that.
Financial goals, health goals.
It's all achievable in a business model.
Truly, that has not been seen before because it is patented, so it doesn't exist anywhere else.
And therefore, we can't wait to hear from you, to meet you on the other side, to meet you hopefully inside the Virtual Retreat.
I actually like that, Iva.
We might have to reconsider our name for this, the Virtual Retreat.
And yeah, we'll see you on the inside.
